Islamic Lifestyle:Eating Sunnah,Time management and Halal Earning

If we want success in this world and the Hereafter, we must shape our daily lifestyle completely according to Islam. Our daily lifestyle includes earning, eating, drinking, sleeping, and interacting with people. Bringing all these actions in line with the teachings of Islam and deen is the real path to success.

Importance of Halal Earning

Islam teaches that the wealth we earn must be completely halal — free from deceit, unfair profit, and lies. If these things enter our earnings, that wealth becomes haram, and haram income is like smoke of Jahannam. Today, many people cheat in business, sell faulty products, overcharge, and deceive buyers by praising low-quality goods. Food and daily items are filled with adulteration. If we do such acts, our earnings bring no benefit; instead, they bring difficulties and hardships. Even a small amount of halal income becomes blessed by Allah, but a large amount of haram wealth becomes a burden, a source of trials and misfortune.

Why Is It Important to Earn Halal?

Halal earning is the income that comes through honest effort and hard work. Islam teaches that wealth should be earned through lawful and ethical means. Below are some reasons why earning halal is important:

  • Value of hard work: Halal income comes from effort and struggle, so a person values that wealth and uses it in the right way.
  • Acceptance of worship: If a person earns unlawful (haram) wealth, their acts of worship may not be accepted, so it is important to avoid it.
  • Protection in the Hereafter: It is promised that the body nourished with halal earnings will be protected from the punishment of Hell.
  • Blessings in halal wealth: Even a small amount of halal income brings great blessings and often becomes more beneficial than large amounts of unlawful wealth.

Sunnah Eating Practices

Eating is a daily need for every human being, and Islam teaches us to follow the method of the Prophet ﷺ while eating. We should begin with the dua, eat from what is in front of us, eat while sitting unless there is a valid reason, recite the dua even if remembered in the middle, look at the food before eating, avoid finding faults in the food, recite the dua and thank Allah after finishing, and eat calmly without haste. If we follow these Sunnahs, we gain reward, and the food brings strength and blessings to our body, inshaAllah.

Benefits of Eating According to Sunnah

Eating according to the Sunnah has many benefits and also brings great reward. Some of the benefits are listed below:

  • Developing the character of the Prophet ﷺ: Eating according to the Sunnah helps a person develop habits similar to those of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
  • Avoiding waste of food: The Sunnah teaches us to take only as much food as we can eat, which prevents food from being wasted.
  • Blessings in food: Allah places blessings in the food, and it becomes a source of strength for the body.
  • Better health and focus: Following the Sunnah in eating helps maintain good health and keeps the mind focused on positive and beneficial activities.

Time Management in Islam

Time is one of Allah’s greatest blessings. Allah has sent us into this world for a fixed period, but we do not know how long we have. We often delay both worldly and religious tasks by saying we don’t have time, yet we never realize when youth ends and when death approaches. That is why Islam commands us to do everything on time — sleeping on time, waking up on time, eating, drinking, praying, and managing daily affairs on time. This discipline makes life easier. Today many young people waste their time by staying awake late at night and waking up late in the morning, which ruins their routine. Therefore, punctuality is essential; otherwise, we only end up regretting later, wishing we could get that time back.

Benefits of Time Management in Islam

Islam teaches the importance of valuing time and completing every task at its proper time. Managing time well brings many benefits. Some of them are listed below:

  • Tasks become easier: When a person manages time properly, work becomes easier and does not feel like a burden.
  • Pleasure of Allah: Doing things at the right time pleases Allah, and He places blessings in that time.
  • Peace of mind: A person who values time usually remains satisfied and does not regret wasting it.
  • Understanding the value of time: Time management reminds a person how valuable time is, so they use it carefully and wisely.

Strengthening Faith Daily

Strengthening faith daily is just as important as strengthening the body. Just like we eat, drink, and exercise to keep our body strong, we must also strengthen our iman every day by praying regularly, reciting the Qur’an, and doing the daily remembrance of Allah. This keeps our faith firm. But if we delay these actions for even two or three days, weakness begins to enter the heart — just like the body becomes weak if we stop eating or drinking for a few days. Therefore, daily prayer, dhikr, and Qur’an recitation are essential for maintaining strong iman. May Allah grant us the ability to act upon this.

Daily Habits That Strengthen Faith

To keep faith (iman) strong and firm, it is important to remain consistent in acts of worship and good deeds. Some simple daily habits can help strengthen faith. A few basic points are listed below:

  • Pray the five daily prayers regularly: Never abandon Salah; anyone can maintain this habit with sincere intention.
  • Recite the Quran daily: Regular recitation strengthens a person’s connection with Allah.
  • Remember Allah through dhikr: Daily remembrance of Allah increases love for Him and helps protect a person from sins.
  • Practice one Sunnah daily: Try to learn a new Sunnah and make an effort to follow it in daily life.
  • Avoid sins and seek forgiveness: Always try to stay away from sins and keep asking Allah for protection and forgiveness.
