Female Students Section : Hijab, Namaz, Duas and Quran

Just as education is necessary for men, it is equally necessary for women — whether worldly or religious. A woman must be educated so she can understand her rights while living in society. Islam has given women certain important rulings to protect them, honour them, and elevate their status, which are mentioned below.

Hijab and Modesty

Allah has commanded women in Islam to observe veil — covering the face, hair, body, hands, and feet. These restrictions are for a woman’s own honour and benefit. Just as Allah commanded women to observe modesty, He also commanded men to lower their gaze. Protecting the eyes is a responsibility for both men and women.

We see many conflicts and problems arise in society due to the violation of a woman’s privacy. If a woman stays in modesty, Allah Himself becomes her Protector. Along with this, Allah has ordered women to maintain dignity, respect their husbands, raise their children properly, and avoid speaking softly with non-mahram men.

Why It Is Important for Women to Wear Hijab and Maintain Modesty?

Islam instructs women to observe hijab and modesty in many places. A woman is considered honorable and precious, and society is strongly connected with her dignity. Allah has commanded hijab and modesty for several important reasons:

Protection and dignity: One of the main purposes of hijab is to cover the body and maintain dignity. Islam instructs women to dress modestly and, in many interpretations, to cover themselves in front of non-mahram men.

Protection from social harm and temptation: Hijab helps protect women from harmful attention and social problems, maintaining a respectful and safe environment in society.

Preventing inappropriate attention: Modesty helps reduce unnecessary attraction and encourages both men and women to interact with respect and proper boundaries.

Maintaining respectful communication: A woman’s speech should also reflect modesty. If speaking with a non-mahram man due to necessity, it should be done respectfully, clearly, and with appropriate boundaries.

Prayer For Girls

For a woman, the ruling of salah is that her head must be fully covered with a scarf, and her body must be covered except for the hands and feet, which are not compulsory to cover during prayer. A woman should pray in a place where there is complete privacy — not in an open area where she can be seen from outside, or in a room near the entrance where a non-mahram man could suddenly enter and see her. Those whom Allah has blessed with a daughter should make their daughter stand beside them and pray with her.”These commandments of Allah are for the benefit and protection of our society. If we practice them even once with sincerity, we will certainly see the benefit, inshaAllah

Importance of Prayer for Girls in Islam

Just as prayer is obligatory for boys and men, the five daily prayers are also obligatory for girls and women. Islam gives responsibilities and spiritual duties to both men and women. Some points explaining why prayer is important for girls are:

  • Obligation for everyone: Islam commands both men and women to perform the five daily prayers, so it is equally obligatory for girls.
  • Spiritual and personal strength: Although women are often considered physically delicate, regular prayer strengthens them mentally and spiritually.
  • Protection from wrongdoing: Salah protects women from bad actions and fills their hearts with the light of faith and closeness to Allah.
  • Avoiding neglect due to daily tasks: Just as men may miss prayer because of outside work, girls and women may become busy with household responsibilities. Therefore, they should be careful not to forget Salah and always keep it a priority.

Daily Duas at Home

A woman is not required to go out as much as a man, so there are certain acts of worship she should perform while staying at home. Just as men are required to pray the prescribed Sunnah prayers, women can follow the recommended supplications (duas) at home. The best place and time for a woman is to recite these duas after completing her salah while sitting in the same place, or while cooking and performing daily tasks, reciting the remembered supplications along with her work.

Learning Quran From Home

Some women have a strong desire to learn the Qur’an, Mashallah, but often their fathers or husbands may not allow them to go out. The best option for them is to learn at home. If there is no one at home to teach, they should first try to find a female online teacher. Only if there is a strong necessity can they attend a teacher in person, but strictly for learning purposes. For young girls whose families allow them to go out, the best places are safe and well-established religious madrasas for girls. May Allah protect us all and keep us in safety and peace.

Why It Is Important for Females to Learn the Quran?

Allah has given both males and females the right and responsibility to read, understand, and learn the Quran so that they can follow its teachings. Islam does not restrict women from gaining knowledge; rather, it encourages them to learn and grow in understanding. Some reasons why learning the Quran is important for females are:

  • Equal opportunity to gain knowledge: Women, just like men, should learn the teachings of the Quran so they can understand and follow the guidance of Islam.
  • Better upbringing of children: Mothers usually play a major role in raising children, so it is important for them to know and understand the Quran in order to guide their children according to its teachings.
  • Understanding their rights and responsibilities: By learning the Quran, a woman becomes aware of what Islam says about her role, her rights, and her responsibilities.
  • Positive impact on society and future generations: If a woman lives her life according to the teachings of the Quran, Allah will bless her, her children, and the future generations with guidance and goodness
