Stories of Prophets from the Quran

The Qur’an contains many stories of the Prophets, such as Hazrat Musa (AS), Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), and Hazrat Isa (AS). These stories are revealed for our understanding and guidance. They show that when the people of any Prophet did not follow his guidance or the right path, Allah punished them. For example, Fir’awn, who claimed divinity, was destroyed by Allah; Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was safely protected in the fire for 40 days. From all these stories, we learn that nothing is difficult for Allah, and His command is enough for anything. If we face challenges, what we need most is strong faith (Iman) and certainty (Yaqeen).

Prophet Musa (AS) Lesson

First, let’s talk about Hazrat Musa (AS). You may have heard his story in your life. Fir’awn, in his time, used to kill every newborn boy out of fear that someone might oppose him when grown. Allah, however, protected Hazrat Musa (AS) and placed him in Fir’awn’s household. Whenever Hazrat Musa (AS) showed a miracle by Allah’s command, Fir’awn called it magic and refused to believe. But Hazrat Musa (AS) remained patient and kept guiding him.

When Hazrat Musa (AS) reached the sea with his followers who had faith in Allah, his people were afraid because Fir’awn and his army were behind them. Hazrat Musa (AS) said, “Do not fear; Allah is with us.” By Allah’s command, he struck the sea with his staff, and twelve paths opened. Later, Fir’awn and his army were drowned at the same place. This all happened because Hazrat Musa (AS) had unwavering faith (yaqeen) in Allah.

Prophet Yusuf (AS) Patience

When we talk about patience, Hazrat Yusuf (AS) stands out with a unique level of patience among the prophets. He faced many hardships in his life—betrayal, false accusations, and imprisonment—yet he trusted Allah and forgave people. His own real brothers deceived him and sold him as a servant in the market when he was very young. Later, he was accused without reason and thrown into prison. But when the time came for him to become a king, he did not punish anyone. Instead, he forgave everyone, including those who wronged him.

Despite everything he suffered, Hazrat Yusuf (AS) chose forgiveness. In today’s time, even if someone says one wrong word to us, our reaction becomes harsh. We all know how we respond. May Allah grant us the ability to be patient and forgiving like Hazrat Yusuf (AS). Ameen.

Prophet Muhammad Character (PBUH)

When we talk about Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ), he was perfect in every aspect—pure from sins, noble in character, and the most honorable. His faith in Allah and his trust in Him was unmatched. No one faced hardship the way the Prophet (ﷺ) did, yet he always prayed for his enemies instead of seeking revenge. Even when the angels offered to destroy his opponents, he refused and said that maybe their future generations would accept the truth.

In Taif, the disbelievers threw so many stones at him that his shoes were filled with blood, yet he remained patient and never used harsh words. The difficulties the Prophet (ﷺ) suffered are beyond what most people could bear. Some of the hardships he faced include:

  • His father passed away before he was born, and his mother passed away when he was only 5 years old.
  • His own uncle became an enemy because of Islam, which caused many challenges.
  • He lost his sons in childhood due to illness.
  • There were days when he had no food to eat.

Despite all these hardships, he showed patience and sacrificed everything for Islam—even allowing his body to be covered in blood for the sake of Allah’s message.

May Allah grant us the ability to follow his character, patience, and faith. Ameen.

Applying Stories in Daily Life

Now that we have read and learned so many incidents from the lives of the Prophets, we should make a promise from today that we will try to bring these lessons into our own lives. We must look at the lives of the Prophets and the life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and understand how to live with true success both in this world and the hereafter. We need to adopt their patience, their character, and their manners. We should forgive others like Hazrat Yusuf (A.S), and have firm faith and trust in Allah like Hazrat Musa (A.S) and Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S).

This requires effort, because nothing is possible without hard work. The most important thing for us is to control our anger, as anger is one of the strongest weapons of Shaytan. Without controlling it, we cannot improve ourselves. We will discuss more about this in this post https://noorulilmonlinequranacademy.com/islamic-manners-akhlaq/
