Now the most important question for us is this: when we read the Qur’an in our daily life and try to understand it, do we also act upon it or not? Because if we do even have the intention to act upon it, then what is the benefit?
Reading the Qur’an for money and teaching it for money is strongly disliked by Allah. We must read and understand the Qur’an with the intention that whatever is written in it and whatever commands Allah has given us, we will also act upon them.
Understanding the Meaning of Verses
The most basic and important thing is that we must understand the verses of the Holy Qur’an. The Qur’an is not easy for every person to understand; it is not understood by reading alone—deep thinking and reflection are necessary. Allah Himself has told us to reflect and think about everything on the earth and in the world; in these things there are signs for the believers.
Allah Almighty has directly commanded us in the Qur’an not to follow the path of the hypocrites and to keep friendship with the believers. Allah wants that every one of His servants be saved from Hell and enter Paradise, but for that we must do reflection and deep thinking ourselves. Allah has created both evil and goodness so that He may test us. This world is a place of trial, and we have to pass this test.
Applying the Teachings of the Quran in Daily Life
Applying the teachings of the Holy Qur’an in daily life is very important. After reflecting on the verses of the Qur’an, it is most necessary to act upon them and to teach them to others as well; Allah Almighty becomes very pleased with this. Now the question for us is how we can apply the teachings of the Qur’an, because we think that there are so many commands of Allah in the Qur’an—how can a person act upon all of them? This is not the case. If every task is done at its proper time, then nothing becomes difficult. Below are some methods through which applying the teachings of the Holy Qur’an becomes very easy.
- The most important thing is to understand at which time which action has to be done. When every task is done on time, it becomes easy.
- Make a promise with yourself that whatever you read from the Qur’an with translation, you will practice the command of Allah from it today. Allah has not said that you must read the entire Qur’an in one day and act on everything in one day.
- Make a daily life chart and write in it which good deeds you will perform today. Place it somewhere in the house where it is easily visible; this will keep reminding you.
- Involve all family members in this. In shā’ Allah, acting upon it will become easy for everyone. And before every action, definitely make the intention that, in shā’ Allah, I will do this deed.

Apart from that, for worldly education, make good detailed notes. Preparing with well-organized notes makes studying easier. Give time to both deen and dunya; while pursuing worldly goals, do not forget your deen.
Sharing Lessons With Family
In the end, one of the most important points is that whatever good actions we practice ourselves, we should share them with our family members. We should not think only about our own success; we should think about our family and relatives as well, so that every person adopts good deeds and the Qur’an. The children, who are the future, should become those who recite the Qur’an happily and act upon it.
First of all, spreading deen within the family is essential; through this, the invitation to deen will spread to every home, InshaAllah.
