Sleeping is also an act that Allah has created specifically for human beings. Sleep is a daily habit, and without it, human survival is impossible. As we mentioned in our previous post https://noorulilmonlinequranacademy.com/daily-life-sunnahs-of-eating/ Allah Almighty has created everything for our benefit. Every single thing He has created is a blessing for us. In the same way, sleep is also a great blessing, through which a person attains peace, comfort, and physical as well as mental strength.
Allah Almighty has made the day for work and worship, and He has made the night for rest and relaxation. Allah has created everything with complete perfection. Allah Himself is perfect, and everything created by Him is also perfect. The system of the world may change, humans may make mistakes, but Allah’s system, which has been running for millions and billions of years, remains the same. It was the same in the past, it is the same today, and it will remain the same in the future.
Allah Almighty knows what will happen even after thousands and millions of years. He knows which creation will come, how long it will live, and how it will function. The purpose of saying all this is to remind us that Allah has always commanded human beings to work during the day, worship Him, and rest at night. Allah has never commanded us to stay awake during the night and sleep during the day. This divine system is for our own benefit, health, balance, and well-being, and following it brings peace to both body and soul.

Reciting Evening Duas
The second and very important Sunnah among the night Sunnahs is reciting the evening and night supplications, whose reward is very great. When a person gets tired of worldly matters and comes before Allah in the evening and at night, and calls upon Him, Allah becomes very pleased. Therefore, after becoming free from the evening and night prayers, we should take out a little time to call upon Allah, ask forgiveness for the sins committed throughout the day, and thank Him that due to His power and authority we were able to pass this day.
Allah loves His servants very much, and if we sincerely ask for forgiveness from the heart, then with one true repentance He forgives all sins. Remember, we have to call upon Allah in every condition—happiness, sorrow, pain, in all situations. May Allah grant us the ability to act upon this. Ameen.
Sleeping on Right Side
One important Sunnah among the Sunnahs of sleeping at night is that we should lie on our right side, turning our body towards the right side. By “right,” as we have already mentioned before, Allah has given guidance to humans to do things in the right way, so that their health, right thinking, positive mindset, and actions remain correct. The second benefit of lying on the right side is that our heart is on the left side, so when we lie on the right side, it creates balance in the body; there is neither pressure on the heart nor any strain. This is an important Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. Many of us ignore this Sunnah and lie in improper or awkward positions, and then when we wake up in the morning, we feel pain in some part of the body. The important point is that we should develop the habit of lying on the right side. If the body gets tired, we can change sides—there is no strictness in this—but the effort and habit should be to lie on the right side.

Ending Day With Shukr
The last Sunnah of the night that we should follow while sleeping is that we should sincerely ask forgiveness for all the sins we committed during the whole day. Whatever wrong actions happened from us, we should ask forgiveness for them from the heart, and for the good deeds we did, we should ask Allah for the ability to do more.Along with this, there is one more important action to do while sleeping: we should forgive everyone and sleep. If someone did wrong to us, we should forgive them from the heart for the sake of Allah’s pleasure. And if we did wrong to someone during the day, whether intentionally or unintentionally, we should make the intention to ask them for forgiveness and to avoid this mistake in the future.Whatever ups and downs happened during the day, we should thank Allah for them and keep no complaint in the heart about anything. We must remember one important thing: life is never perfect for anyone. Humans make mistakes, and Allah has also given us the solution for them. May Allah make us among those who show patience and gratitude. Ameen.
