The law of the world is that every task should be done at its proper time. Just as Allah, by His power, has fixed a specific time for everything He created, in the same way humans have been commanded to perform their responsibilities with balance and on time. For example, the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening at its appointed time, and likewise the moon appears at night at its fixed time. Allah has never allowed both to appear together. Scientifically, we can say that the moon is also present during the day, but due to the sunlight it is not visible. This itself is a great sign of Allah’s power, that He shows everything at its appointed time. In the same way, we should perform the duties assigned to us at their proper times and create proper balance in our lives.
Creating a Daily Schedule
The most important and easiest way to do everything at the proper time is to make a proper schedule. Through this, we come to know which task we have to do at what time. Without a schedule, a person becomes confused about how much time to give to religion and how much to worldly matters. This is especially very important for students. The most important and easy methods of making a schedule are as follows:
- The schedule should be made according to the prayer times. By deciding what work to do before a certain prayer and what to do after it, following the schedule becomes very easy.
- Giving more time to one task and less to another is also wrong; every task should be given equal time. However, if one task is easier and another is more difficult, time can be managed accordingly.
- Try to do as much work as possible early in the morning, because the mind is fresh at that time.
- The most important issue, due to which our entire life becomes disturbed, is sleeping late at night and waking up late. This ruins all the tasks of the day, so try to sleep early at night and wake up early in the morning.

Prioritizing Quran Reading
When we make a schedule, we should never say, “I don’t have time for the Quran.” The Quran should always be given a schedule first and be our top priority. It is most important. Even if we read just 2 pages after each prayer, over time we can complete half a Juz or a full Juz every day. For a Hafiz, reading 3 Juz daily is essential. Details about this have been explained in this post: Secrets of Successful Hifz so that the Quran remains in our memory.
The Quran is Allah’s command, and His commands should be given first priority, which brings immense reward. The world is temporary, but the Quran will benefit us even on the Day of Judgment. Therefore, try to make the Quran your first priority.
The benefits of reading the Quran daily are as follows:
- Reading the Quran daily creates love for it in the heart.
- Daily Quran recitation softens the heart and improves one’s character.
- On the Day of Judgment, the Quran will intercede for us; it will be ready to plead with the angels on our behalf, and Allah will grant Paradise to the one who recited it.
- For Hafiz, it is essential to read the Quran daily so it stays memorized; the reward and virtue of this practice are immense.
Avoiding Distractions While Studying
For us, in today’s era, the biggest problem is the unnecessary use of mobile phones, due to which we get distracted from our studies. Social media platforms have consumed a very important amount of time of our young generation. This is not the fault of those social media platforms; rather, it is our own fault. The wrong or right use of social media depends on us.
Look at our daily life: when a knife is used, do we blame the one who made the knife or the one who uses it incorrectly? In the same way, social media creators have only created the platforms; whether they are used rightly or wrongly does not concern them. Therefore, it is necessary to protect ourselves from the distractions of social media. Below are some ways to avoid the misuse of social media and to focus on studies:
- The first and most important step, especially for students, is to permanently delete time-wasting apps from the mobile phone, such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc., as these are major sources of time waste.
- When you sit down to study, do not keep your mobile phone near you. Keep it in another room or outside.
- Turn off your mobile phone 30 to 45 minutes before sleeping at night. This improves sleep quality and saves mental energy for studies.
- Avoid games that only waste your time and give nothing in return. For a person, their career is the first priority; games can be played later if desired.
Remember: do not forget religion. Success does not mean that a person does whatever their heart desires. You should definitely enjoy life and have recreation, but always remain within the limits of Shariah and Islam.

Rewards of Learning Both Knowedge and Quran
A successful person is one who balances both dunya (worldly life) and deen (religion). Today’s generation is mostly focused on gaining worldly things, but those who work sincerely for their deen, even ready to sacrifice their life for it, Allah places the dunya at their feet.
Allah has not forbidden pursuing worldly matters; He commands us to earn and earn halal. However, dunya and its means should be a need, not a habit. Our first priority must be deen. Allah’s command is to handle worldly affairs properly but always in a way that aligns with deen.
True knowledge for us means: do not cheat anyone, do not give anything harmful in business, do not reduce measurements, do not take advantage of others for your own gain.
May Allah grant us all the understanding and ability to follow and prioritize deen correctly.
